Recognised from 7,000+ suppliers: what it took to become DuluxGroup's Supplier of the Year

Global Sourcing Services (GSS) is DuluxGroup's Supplier of the Year 2025, chosen from a network of more than 7,000 suppliers. The award recognised GSS's work delivering the 60+ custom components behind Yates' Click & Grow, launched nationally into Bunnings stores across Australia. It was a close collaboration with the Yates team from start to finish, and the award reflects that partnership as much as GSS's part in it.

Here's what that project actually involved, and what it says about how GSS runs production for consumer brands.

The award, and the project behind it

GSS was named DuluxGroup's Overall Supplier of the Year for 2025, selected from more than 7,000 suppliers across the DuluxGroup network. The award recognised GSS's work with Yates on Click & Grow, launched nationally into Bunnings.

On the shelf, it's one product. Behind it are more than 60 custom-made components, each made to its own spec, that all have to fit and work together as a finished unit. That took close collaboration with the Yates team at every stage, and the award reflects that partnership as much as GSS's part in it.

The project: 60+ components, one national launch window

A national rollout into Bunnings stores across Australia doesn't leave room for a late or faulty part. Every one of the 60-plus components needed to be made to spec, fit with the parts around it, and come together into a product that worked, ahead of a launch date that had already been set.

That's a different problem to producing one product from one factory. A launch at this scale runs on GSS's standard project process, just at a larger scale than a single-product order:

Running a multi-component launch of your own? Holding design for manufacture, quality control and delivery timing together across dozens of components at once is exactly the kind of project this process is built for. Talk to us about what you're planning.

Why this is a harder brief than it looks

A single custom part failing quality control is a delay. One out of 60+ components failing, three weeks before a national launch date that's already been set with a major retailer, is a different kind of problem. There's no quiet fix. It shows up on shelf, or it doesn't.

That's what makes a project like this a genuine test of a manufacturing partner, not just a large order. It's not really about the number of components. It's about whether the same standard holds across all of them, under a deadline that doesn't move.

What it means if you're evaluating a manufacturing partner

Most businesses evaluating a manufacturing partner in Vietnam or China are working at a smaller scale than a national DuluxGroup rollout. The underlying question is the same one this project answered: does quality control hold up when the order gets complicated, or does it only work on the simple jobs?

The same process runs whether it's 60 components for a national retail launch or a single product line heading into its first production run: design for manufacture review before tooling is committed, independent inspection at each stage, and a single team accountable for the outcome rather than the work being split across a factory, a freight forwarder and an inspection agency who've never spoken to each other.

That's the model. Manufacturing and quality control run through one team across Brisbane and Asia, so a growing brand gets the oversight without having to build out its own production floor in another country to get it.

About Global Sourcing Services

Australian-owned manufacturing partner, operating since 2007. Engineering-led, with teams in Brisbane and Ho Chi Minh City managing production across a verified network of manufacturing partners in Vietnam, China, Taiwan, Singapore and India.

Sixty-plus components for one national launch is a supplier-management problem before it's a manufacturing one. The businesses that win an account like this aren't necessarily the cheapest quote in the room. They're the ones whose quality control didn't waver once the order got complicated.

How many suppliers does DuluxGroup select from for this award?
More than 7,000 suppliers sit across the DuluxGroup network. GSS was selected as the Overall Supplier of the Year for 2025 from that group.
What did GSS deliver as part of the winning project?
60+ custom components for Yates' national rollout into Bunnings stores, covering design for manufacture, production management and quality control.

No. The same design for manufacture, quality control and production management process applies to a single custom part or a first production run, not only multi-component national launches.
How does GSS's quality control process work?
Supplier vetting and quality planning before production starts, independent inspection during the production run, and final random inspection before goods are cleared to ship. GSS is ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certified and operates as an independent QC layer above each factory's own inspections.
